Mohammed Iqbal – Founder & Executive Chairman
Mohammed has over 20 years of business experience with 18 years working in financial markets. Most recently he was the Deputy head of Fixed Income at Kleinwort Benson Bank where he managed a global business across Europe and Asia in the field of Portfolio Advisory, Institutional Intermediation and Origination.
Between 1996 and 2002 Mohammed was at CIBC Capital Markets. As a Director, he successfully set up a proprietary equity volatility business and managed the equity structured products business trading both vanilla and complex equity derivatives.
Mohammed holds a First Class Hons in Banking and Financial Services from the University of Birmingham.

Alan Hubbard – Group Chief Executive OfficerAlan is a high profile and well renowned senior banker with significant Board level experience in both private and publicly owned business sectors for over 30 years. Having served in various capacities in corporate finance, credits, funds and investment banking, Alan has broad knowledge and exposure in financial markets and has cultivated strong relationships with international private equity funds, portfolio investment managers and brokerage funds. He is highly regarded by the UK Regulators as a Controlled Function holder and has a strong track record of delivering to market profitable new funds, investment products and platforms to its shareholders. He has managed key strategic relationships with several large scale business partners at executive level such as Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, Investec, AVIVA, Friends Life, Barclays, JP Morgan, Hermes, Schroders, BlackRock and Bradford & Bingley.
From 1998, Alan led a strategic development team for a start-up insurance company and fund management platform. This proposition included an open investment fund platform as well as a strategic partnership with Hermes. By 2001 he had established the business as the leading retail provider in the market. Negotiated Agreements with large scale corporate clients including BlackRock who subsequently bought the business infrastructure in 2007. BlackRock is now the biggest fund manager in the world with over $4 trillion under management.
Alan has held roles as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Syngery Financial Products, Interim Director at Zurich, Chief Operating Officer at Blackrock Investment Management, Chief Operating Officer at Alexander Forbes & Operations Director at Schroders PLC.
Outside of work Alan is a keen golfer and loves travelling.
Ajaz Ahmed – Managing Partner
Head of Corporate Finance and Management Consulting divisions.
He has successfully concluded a number of $multi-million transactions and projects involving Real-Estate, buy-side / sell-side M&A deals, private-equity, bilateral debt arrangements and other structured finance and capital market placement activities.
Ajaz is also experienced and knowledgeable concerning Islamic Finance and SUKUKs.
Ajaz started his career in the mid 90’s with a global Management Consulting firm and very quickly progressed from Associate Consultant to Project Manager then Programme Director leading assignments for multinational companies and government entities at senior directorate and board levels.
During his varied career, Ajaz led and delivered numerous Business Strategy and Implementation Projects, Merger & Acquisition consolidations and has been involved in a variety of Corporate Finance related transactions.
He is also regarded by many as a serial entrepreneur involved in numerous start-up and early stage business opportunities across different industry sectors, one of which grew into a successful and profitable multi-miillion pound enterprise spread across 4 continents.
As a graduate in Finance and Marketing his commercial abilities are based on solid foundations and at the same time, Ajaz is also well known for his technical skills and knowledge of information technology.
At MBU-Capital, Ajaz continues to demonstrate his natural flair in strategy design and creative out-the-box thinking in finding solutions to complex business and financing challenges in helping to build and grow the Corporate Finance, Real-Estate and Consulting business lines.

Haris Akhtar, CFA – Head of Real Estate
Haris has a 12 year career in Real Estate Private Equity. He has extensive Real Estate Equity Special Situations experience which he developed at Forum Partners, a $6bn AUM Real Estate Private Equity Fund.
Perry Stock, FRICS – Head of Real Estate Developments
Perry has vast experience in private sector development management, with over 30 years in Real Estate Development and Asset Management.

Perry originally started in the south-west and now lives in Surrey. As a qualified Yachtmaster he is a very keen sailor having competed in many International events.
Timothy Fisher – Chief Risk OfficerTim has over 20 years experience in financial engineering, risk management and investment special situations as a former investment banking Chief Risk Officer, Head of Trading & Alternative Investments.
Tim has operated on both the buy and sell sides. At Commerzbank, Tim held the following positions: Global Head of Proprietary Trading, Global Head Precious Metals Sales & Trading, Global Head Risk Management and Global Head Alternative Investments where Tim was Chair of the Investment Committee which oversaw a $2Bn fund of hedge funds. After banking, buy-side mandates have led to extensive experience in developing and executing value creation and risk management strategies across equity and credit special situations. Tim has originated and lead company turnaround strategies in many sectors including property, technology and specialist engineering. Tim has worked with company boards, CEOs, CFOs, insolvency practitioners, creditor-investors and shareholders to implement remedial strategies around capital re-structuring, capital raises & re-financing and subsidiary sales or tactical acquisitions.
Tim took a First Class Degree then a Masters degree (Distinction) in Engineering both from Imperial College where his research also achieved the Stott-Longcroft, Bessemer and FRSA medals.
Hardyal Singh Matharu – Real Estate ConsultantHardyal leads teams in Eastern Africa and UK, particularly in infrastructure sectors focussed on Real Estate viz: Social Housing, Tourism, Hospitality, Transportation, Ports and Roads.
With over 40 years experience in Construction and Real Estate Development, Hardyal has the perfect balance of strong managerial and technical experience. His reputation and in-depth knowledge of the African and UK markets has made him and his team a highly sought after resource with respect to execution of large scale infrastructure and real estate schemes.
Over the years Hardyal has directed construction and development projects worth several hundred millions of dollars (ranging from high-end residential and multi-storey commercial buildings to hundreds of kilometres of roads, and civil engineering projects).
Recently, Hardyal has led feasibility studies related to Medical Centres, Real Estate in Rwanda and Kenya, and Oil and Gas Infrastructure projects in conjunction with Deloite and Touche, besides rebuilding of major hotels on the South Coast of Kenya and large scale Real Estate Development in Nairobi.
Hardyal has a degree in Civil Engineering from University of Aston in Birmingham, and he is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
