Mohammed Iqbal – CEO & Co-Founder
Mohammed has over 20 years of business experience with 18 years working in financial markets. Most recently he was the Deputy head of Fixed Income at Kleinwort Benson Bank where he managed a global business across Europe and Asia in the field of Portfolio Advisory, Institutional Intermediation and Origination.
Between 1996 and 2002 Mohammed was at CIBC Capital Markets. As a Director, he successfully set up a proprietary equity volatility business and managed the equity structured products business trading both vanilla and complex equity derivatives.
Mohammed holds a First Class Hons in Banking and Financial Services from the University of Birmingham.

Ajaz Ahmed – Managing Partner
Head of Corporate Finance and Management Consulting divisions.
He has successfully concluded a number of $multi-million transactions and projects involving Real-Estate, buy-side / sell-side M&A deals, private-equity, bilateral debt arrangements and other structured finance and capital market placement activities.
Ajaz is also experienced and knowledgeable concerning Islamic Finance and SUKUKs.
Ajaz started his career in the mid 90’s with a global Management Consulting firm and very quickly progressed from Associate Consultant to Project Manager then Programme Director leading assignments for multinational companies and government entities at senior directorate and board levels.
During his varied career, Ajaz led and delivered numerous Business Strategy and Implementation Projects, Merger & Acquisition consolidations and has been involved in a variety of Corporate Finance related transactions.
He is also regarded by many as a serial entrepreneur involved in numerous start-up and early stage business opportunities across different industry sectors, one of which grew into a successful and profitable multi-miillion pound enterprise spread across 4 continents.
As a graduate in Finance and Marketing his commercial abilities are based on solid foundations and at the same time, Ajaz is also well known for his technical skills and knowledge of information technology.
At MBU-Capital, Ajaz continues to demonstrate his natural flair in strategy design and creative out-the-box thinking in finding solutions to complex business and financing challenges in helping to build and grow the Corporate Finance, Real-Estate and Consulting business lines.
Outside of work, Ajaz is actively involved with a number of charitable organisations and remains passionate about matters concerning social responsibility.
Perry Stock, FRICS – Head of Real Estate Developments
Perry has vast experience in private sector development management, with over 30 years in Real Estate Development and Asset Management.

Perry originally started in the south-west and now lives in Surrey. As a qualified Yachtmaster he is a very keen sailor having competed in many International events.
Haris Akhtar, CFA – Head of Real Estate
Haris has a 12 year career in Real Estate Private Equity. He has extensive Real Estate Equity Special Situations experience which he developed at Forum Partners, a $6bn AUM Real Estate Private Equity Fund.
Dr Marwan AlAhmadi – Chairman (Non-Exec)
Dr Marwan AlAhmadi is former CBO (Chief Business Officer) of MOBILY
(one of the largest mobile telecoms operators in the Middle-East).
As the former Chief Business Officer of MOBILY he was responsible for transforming and reorganising the corporate segment business for growth & profitability.
In 2007 Dr Alahmadi led the efforts to create Zain Saudi Arabia, as its CEO.
Prior to this, Dr. Alahmadi was MTC Group’s Chief Strategy Officer (“CSO”) with the responsibility of spearheading strategy development, corporate governance and business operations. After joining MTC in 2004, Dr. Alahmadi led Group initiatives on strategic business planning and participated in transforming the organisation from a regional entity into an international telecommunications company.
Dr. Alahmadi also held the position of CEO at MTC-Vodafone Bahrain until February 2007. Dr. Alahmadi is an internationally recognized IT expert having previously worked for Cisco as Regional Manager during which time he was awarded “Most Successful Country Manager”. Prior to joining Cisco, Dr. Alahmadi worked for Toyota Abdul Lateef Jameel (ALJ) Group where he was Director of the IT division.
Dr. Alahmadi holds an MSc and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA) in 1986 and 1990 respectively, and a BSc. in Systems Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in 1983.
He is a renowned public speaker in the field of business at key events around the world.
Timothy Fisher – Chief Risk OfficerTim has over 20 years experience in financial engineering, risk management and investment special situations as a former investment banking Chief Risk Officer, Head of Trading & Alternative Investments.
Tim has operated on both the buy and sell sides. At Commerzbank, Tim held the following positions: Global Head of Proprietary Trading, Global Head Precious Metals Sales & Trading, Global Head Risk Management and Global Head Alternative Investments where Tim was Chair of the Investment Committee which oversaw a $2Bn fund of hedge funds. After banking, buy-side mandates have led to extensive experience in developing and executing value creation and risk management strategies across equity and credit special situations. Tim has originated and lead company turnaround strategies in many sectors including property, technology and specialist engineering. Tim has worked with company boards, CEOs, CFOs, insolvency practitioners, creditor-investors and shareholders to implement remedial strategies around capital re-structuring, capital raises & re-financing and subsidiary sales or tactical acquisitions.
Tim took a First Class Degree then a Masters degree (Distinction) in Engineering both from Imperial College where his research also achieved the Stott-Longcroft, Bessemer and FRSA medals.
Ali Al-Khateeb, Ma Arch – Development Manager
Ali joined MBU from one of the largest international architecture firms where he worked on large Residential developments in London. He gained a Masters degree in Architecture from Kingston University.
His previous roles included working in the residential development sector on substantially large regeneration schemes predominantly in the UK with few projects in the Middle East Area.
In his final year at University he started his entrepreneurial path by establishing a tech-start up where he was introduced to the financial services through his experience of managing his accounts and working towards a successful business.
Automatically this led Ali to be in real estate investments where he has the merit to work on deals both by drawings and spreadsheets.
Ali’s major interests are in sports, politics, painting and product design.
Cem Yolcu, CFA – Senior Advisor & JV Partner
As CEO of Mazaya (Turkey) Cem leads one of the largest Real-Estate Investment and Development partnerships in Turkey (backed by Al-Mazaya holdings, which is one of the largest Real Estate developers in the Middle East).
Cem is a Management Consultant by profession, and started his career at Ernst & Young. He also has a long experience of Real-Estate development, and Structured Finance.
Prior to Mazaya, Cem was a Senior Telecoms Executive and Consultant with extensive experience in MENA regions.
Tarek Kallel – Head of Business Development
More than 10 years of Capital markets and alternative investments experience working for major European Banks with an extensive relationship to investors in EMEA.
Tarek now leads the business development and capital raising activities for MBU Capital.
Patrick Macnamara – Business Development
Patrick has 18 years of experience in the capital markets. After a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he Joined UBS in 1998 on the credit trading team where he traded bonds, loans and convertibles on the proprietary desk. While there, he developed the capital structure arbitrage systems in house and promoted the growth of that business on the sell side across the various desks.
Patrick is a keen yacht racer and has sailed for Great Britain.
Fraz Khawaja – VC Investment Manager
Fraz Khawaja spearheads the Venture Capital sector under the MBU wholly owned Monument Ventures. He brings to the table his valuable experience as a serial entrepreneur and domain expert. His professional association on strategic projects with leading institutions in Europe has resulted in exposure to best practices in industry verticals that range from venture funding and risk management to investment banking and software development.
Fraz graduated with dual honors in Law and International Relations. In 2000 Keele University presented him with an Award of Recognition for outstanding academic performance in International Relations.
Passionate about snowboarding and cycling, Fraz regularly participates in charity runs and ironman events. He is fluent in English, German, Hindi and Urdu.
Ricky Chu, CFA, ACA – Financial Controller
Ricky has over 15 years of work experience gained from leading multi-national companies in different industry sectors where he held various finance and management roles in Moody’s Asia Pacific, Kuehne & Nagel and Exxonmobil.
Prior to joining MBU Capital, he was Deputy Finance Manager at Greenland (United Kingdom) Investment Limited, where he helped to build the finance team and complete the first on-shore development financing of the £600 million flagship mixed-use scheme for the Chinese enterprise in Wandsworth, London.
Ricky received a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) degree from the University of Hong Kong.
Mariela Jaho – Legal & Compliance Executive
Mariela graduated in Law and holds an LLM in Crime & Litigation, where she was specialized in criminal justice and financial crime.
Post graduation she worked in property development and corporate finance for several years.
Her background in both corporate finance and compliance comes across strongly as she is both numerate and literate and multi-lingual.
Mariela’s experience in corporate finance involved working alongside the head of department for both domestic and overseas companies in IPO’s, M&A, Fundraise and Investor Relations (Aim Rule 26).
Abid Hussain – Head of Asset ManagementAbid has over 13 years of experience working in the financial capital markets. Most recently he was Director of Fixed Income at Mizuho International PLC where he worked in High Yield Credit Sales and Trading. Here he built upon and created a vast network of relationships from large Institutional Pension and Insurance funds, Specialist Hedge Funds through to the traditional global Asset Managers.
Prior to this, Abid worked at both Gottex London and Kleinwort Benson Bank as Head of High Yield Fixed Income.
Between 2004-2012, Abid traded High Yield and Investment Grade Credit for Citigroup based in London. During this time, he ran and managed risk in excess of $2BN for the bank consisting of Corporate and Government Bonds including Derivative products.
Abid obtained a BSc Honours degree in Pure Mathematics from City University Cass Business School.
Mudassar Ahmed – Investment Analyst
Mudasssar is one of the youngest members at MBU, graduating in Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) in 2016.
Mudassar is also responsible for the companies IT infrastructure and associated systems to ensure a smooth and secure platform for MBU’s business operations.
Mohammed Sadiq – Partner
Sadiq brings extensive experience in business turnarounds, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, performance improvement and business process re-engineering projects.
Sadiq’s entrepreneurial ventures grew from humble beginnings to successful businesses turning over millions of pounds in revenue. Sadiq still maintains an active Directorship in his Telecoms business which has grown to operate across Europe, Middle-East, Asia and Far-East.
Away from business, Sadiq dedicates much of his time to various philanthropic causes including education, health and sporting activities for under-privileged children in Pakistan.
Henry Emuwawon – Digital Marketing Executive
Henry Emuwawon is an award winning certified web professional with over 10 years of experience in web design, web development and online marketing. He handles marketing at MBU. He has occupied roles as Online Marketing Manager in various business sectors, ranging from Risk Management, Financial Advisory to Non-profit. Henry is a Master CIW Designer, holds a bachelor of technology degree in Solid-state Physics and also a certified Business Analyst.
Roxanne Henman – Executive PA & Office Admin
Roxanne holds a central role in the company undertaking a range of administrative duties at MBU and is a highly skilled PA professional with a cross functional background in business administration and operations. Accustomed to fast paced environments where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple responsibilities is the norm, Roxanne works collaboratively and effectively with all levels of the executive team at MBU.
